Marilyn visited the Cal-Neva Lodge, the glamorous hotspot formerly owned by Frank Sinatra at Lake Tahoe, on several occasions in her final years – most notably during filming of The Misfits in 1960, and on the last weekend before she died in 1962. Local historian Robin Holabird – who wrote a chapter on The Misfits for her 2017 book, the colourfully titled Elvis, Marilyn and the Space Aliens: Icons on Screen in Nevada – will discuss the resort’s Hollywood links at the Lake Tahoe Museum this Tuesday, November 16, at 6 pm.
