‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’ at the Hollywood Roosevelt

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel will celebrate Marilyn’s birthday this Thursday with a  screening of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes by the Tropicana Pool, where she posed for photographer Earl Thiesen in 1952. (However, this was not Marilyn’s first professional shoot as the listing implies. In fact, she scored her first magazine cover as Norma Jeane Dougherty back in 1945.)

“Doors open at 7:30PM – Pictures with Marilyn’s wax figure provided by Madame Tussauds

Movie starts at 8:30PM – Screening of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Dress up in the theme of the movie and receive a free cocktail or candy at the concession stand.

Tables and beds are reserved by the ticket package you purchased. The hotel has Valet Parking available at $18 for three hours with validation from the Tropicana Bar if you do not purchase the pre-paid parking option.

Movie Nights have a specially curated cocktail and beverage list along with limited food options from the Tropicana Menu with many vegetarian options. In addition, we have some of your favorite concession stand candies and popcorn to honour the nostalgia of the movie going experience.”
