Torrid, the US clothing franchise for plus-size women – and an offshoot of Hot Topic – has launched a Marilyn-inspired line in partnership with her estate. Items on offer include this midi surplice tie-back georgette dress, in homage to the iconic Travilla halter dress from ‘subway scene’ in The Seven Year Itch (worn with a black faux-fur stole, sold separately.)

This mini fluted sweater dress may be loosely based on Marilyn’s off-shoulder number from her first LIFE cover shoot with Philippe Halsman…

And this ruched wiggle dress recalls the Oleg Cassini original that Marilyn wore while promoting Monkey Business…

While this halter tapered jumpsuit (available in red or black) is seemingly influenced by Marilyn’s attire for a 1954 layout with photographer Baron.

Of course, Marilyn also favoured strappy dresses on numerous social occasions, both formal and informal.

If you’re looking for something more casual, these multi-plaid pants channel one of Marilyn’s favourite offscreen styles…

Topped with a cable mock neck sweater like the one designed by Dorothy Jeakins in 1960, for Marilyn’s ‘My Heart Belongs to Daddy’ number from Let’s Make Love.

There’s also a retro-style, button-front swing dress or roll-sleeve tee with Marilyn-inspired prints…

T-shirts featuring images by Milton Greene and Sam Shaw…

And finally, a houndstooth coat similar to this number sported by Marilyn in 1961.
