Marilyn’s ‘Timeless Beauty’ at Kudos Memorabilia

Sixty photos of Marilyn will go under the hammer in Marilyn Monroe: A Timeless Beauty, a special event on Tuesday, January 30 at Kudos Memorabilia in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

These vintage prints are mainly from the 1970s and ’80s, sized 8×10 inches within a 16×20″ mount, with some framed. You can register to bid online at Live Auctioneers.

Early modelling photos from 1945-46 by Andre de Dienes (above) and Richard C. Miller (below), charting the beginning of Norma Jeane’s transformation.

Two poses from Marilyn’s ‘yoga session’ with Ed Cronenweth (below), studio photographer at Columbia, where she filmed Ladies of the Chorus in 1948.

Below, four poses from Marilyn’s 1949 photo session with Andre de Dienes at Tobey Beach, NY, during her promotional tour for Love Happy.

Signed 1950 photo by Ed Clark (below left). The photo at right is from the same period, promoting Marilyn’s role in The Asphalt Jungle.

Below left, a portrait by Frank Powolny, studio photographer at Twentieth Century-Fox, promoting Marilyn’s role in All About Eve (1950.) Powolny is also thought to have taken the photo at right in 1953.

UPDATE…

This framed print by Bert Stern was the top seller with a final bid of $2,600 (or approximately £2050.) The image measures 12×12 inches, and is signed by Stern with the title ‘Marilyn’ in red crayon, numbered 10/25 and dated 2012.
