Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures. An unofficial Marilyn Monroe Crochet Kit is now available, with an instruction book, needle and yarn included.
“The crochet instruction book includes everything you need to know to make your own amigurumi Marilyn doll. This mini Marilyn is styled in one of her signature outfits: the billowing white dress she wore over the subway grate in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch. The instruction book explains all the crochet techniques used in the project so even fans who are new to crochet can enjoy it. The pattern contains step-by-step instructions and helpful how-to photos.”

Artist Katalin Galusz has also designed crochet kits for Audrey Hepburn, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. Other related titles from publisher Chartwell Books include Marilyn: Her Life in Pictures; Marilyn Monroe: A Photographic Life; and a children’s book from the Little People, Big Dreams series.

Experienced crafters may like to try this more detailed version from Crown Country Crochet, or even a tribute to Marilyn’s ‘Diamond Dress‘ from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. However, these patterns are for download only, and materials are not provided.
