Marilyn is featured in the September 2025 issue of UK nostalgia magazine Yours Retro (#91, with Steve McQueen on the cover), as part of ‘A Final Farewell,’ a 3-page feature looking back at famous last screen performances.
Clark Gable collapsed and died shortly after The Misfits wrapped in 1960, while Marilyn would never complete another movie. Co-stars Montgomery Clift and Thelma Ritter also passed away within a few years, leaving Eli Wallach as the only major cast member to enjoy a healthy old age.
Yours Retro has also republished a special issue from 2019, 100 Greatest Movie Icons, with Marilyn and fourteen of her co-stars ranked among the Hollywood greats (see here.)
