Marilyn graces the cover of Australian Women’s Weekly: Icons this month (#33/2605), with an eight-page feature inside about Dear Marilyn, the new book celebrating her friendship with Sam Shaw.
Another Shaw photo made the cover back in 2024 (see here), proving once again his gift for capturing Marilyn’s natural beauty.
Elsewhere in this month’s Icons, Marilyn joins an array of Hollywood luminaries reading newspapers in another feature for the ‘Stars at Play’ series.
In March 1955, Ed Feingersh photographed Marilyn reading Motion Picture Daily in her suite at New York’s Ambassador Hotel. (Another photo from this shoot was used in a Paris Match poster campaign last year.)
Icons also profiles Jack Lemmon, Marilyn’s favourite co-star in Some Like It Hot, for the ‘Leading Men’ series; and the Hollywood Pantages Theatre – where Marilyn made her only Academy Awards appearance in 1951 – gets a closer look. All About Eve stars Bette Davis and George Sanders are shown below, but only one brought Oscar home.
