Ruby Flynn Brings ‘Marilyn Forever’ to Madame Figaro

The British model Ruby Flynn was featured in Madame Figaro, the supplementary magazine for Le Figaro, last weekend (March 20-22.) Headlined ‘Marilyn Forever’, the twelve-page spread was styled by Sylvie Clemente, and photographed by Gianluca Fontana.

Fontana, Flynn and Clemente sought inspiration from images of Marilyn captured at different stages of life…

The most striking images evoke Marilyn’s softer side…

Emulating her 1953 ‘black sweater’ sitting with LIFE photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt, and the scarves and sunglasses she wore in off-duty moments.

Other photos blend casual sophistication with Hollywood glitz …

In some images, Ruby resembles the bombshells who came after Marilyn (Sheree North, Jayne Mansfield, Mamie Van Doren …)

And finally, a kiss from Ruby (and Marilyn.)

The layout accompanied a separate article, ‘Marilyn: The Actress Behind the Myth‘, which covered an upcoming exhibition at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris; and Marilyn Chérie, a new book co-written by Sébastien Cauchon and actress Catherine Deneuve. Plus, there’s a tribute from another movie icon, Isabelle Adjani, who recently played Marilyn onstage in a one-woman show.
