This remarkable collection of Monroe memorabilia – with 225 items including the Douglas Airview brochure which gave Norma Jeane her first formal layout; her debut magazine cover story (Family Circle, 1945); and a book from Marilyn’s personal library (Six O’Clock Casual by Henry W. Cune, 1960), will go under the hammer as part of the Hollywood 118 auction at Profiles in History next Friday (December 18.) Among the other lots is a set of 37 photos of Marilyn; a photo taken with husband Joe DiMaggio, from his estate; an Elois Jenssen costume sketch for Lucille Ball’s TV skit as MM; an oversize candid of Marilyn and Clark Gable in The Misfits; and a poster for the Rolling Stones album, Some Girls (1978), with artwork featuring Marilyn among other Hollywood icons.
