‘Kafkaokur’: Marilyn Covers Turkish Literary Journal

Marilyn graces the cover of Turkish literary journal Kafkaokur‘s latest issue (#57), with an illustration based on Alfred Eisenstaedt’s iconic 1953 photo, accompanied by the quote, ‘Fear is stupid. So are regrets’ (from W.J. Weatherby’s Conversations With Marilyn.)

Inside there’s a further illustration, inspired by Marilyn’s 1954 ‘wicker chair’ session with photographer and business partner Milton Greene. The magazine also includes two Monroe-themed bookmarks, with another poignant quote: ‘I’ve spent most of my life running away from myself’ (from her Saturday Evening Post interview.)
