This Laszlo Willinger photo, inscribed ‘To Maureen, From the very beginning—thanks, Warm Regards, Marilyn Monroe,’ is one of several MM-related items on offer in the Autographs & Artifacts event at RR Auctions, with bids closing on April 14.
This 1956 payroll book for Marilyn Monroe Productions – with company cheques made out to MM, Milton Greene, and Hedda Rosten – is another highlight.
And finally, a range of photos by Andre de Dienes, Frank Worth and Roy Schatt is also available. This Schatt photo of Marilyn and Arthur Miller at a New York party following the December 1955 premiere of The Rose Tattoo is thought to be the first public sighting of the lovers.
UPDATE: Only a handful of Marilyn-related items reached the estimate, with this Frank Worth photo of Marilyn and her How to Marry a Millionaire co-stars Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall the top seller at $1,411.25. More auction results here.
