Marilyn’s Family Secrets in ‘Yours Retro’

Marilyn graces the cover of the July issue of UK nostalgia mag Yours Retro, with a photo taken by Sam Shaw in the summer of 1957. Another image from the same series made the cover in 2018 (see here), showing how many moods she could convey in a single sitting.

Inside, there’s a six-page article – headlined ‘Marilyn’s Hidden Bombshell’ – exploring her complex relationship with her mother Gladys, by biographer Michelle Morgan – and as always with her work, it’s thoughtful and well-researched, teasing out little-known facts from Marilyn’s storied life. Her next book, When Marilyn Met the Queen, will be published in January 2022.
