Peter Bogdanovich, the filmmaker, actor and historian, has died of natural causes at home in Los Angeles, aged 82. In his 2004 book, Who the Hell’s In It? Portraits and Conversations, he wrote about his sole encounter with Marilyn (at the Actors Studio in 1955), and shared interviews with classic Hollywood figures who knew and worked with her, including Fritz Lang, Howard Hawks, and George Cukor. You can read my tribute to him here.
