70 Years Ago: Marilyn and Earl Thiesen

The latest issue of French e-zine Crazy for You looks back at Marilyn’s pin-up shoots with Earl Thiesen in early 1952. The cover shot shows Marilyn in a bathing suit designed by Rose Marie Reid, also worn by future co-star Jane Russell.

As a tribute to her fans in the armed forces, Marilyn donned a USS Henley t-shirt – and not much else – in another cheesecake moment. And for a Valentine’s Day layout, she wore the bathing suit made by Elois Jenssen for a beauty queen role in We’re Not Married!

And finally, Marilyn posed for Thiesen in a potato sack in 1951 – a year before her more famous shoot with Gene Kornman (see here.)
