‘Some Like It Hot’ Heading Back to Broadway

Following the recent news that TV’s Smash is heading for Broadway, an update on the Some Like It Hot stage musical first announced in 2018, and long-delayed due to theatre lockdowns (more info here.) Co-written by talk show host Amber Ruffin with Matthew Lopez, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman – the team behind Bombshell, the Marilyn-inspired musical at the heart of Smash – the new show based on Billy Wilder’s comedy classic (unrelated to the 1972 adaptation, Sugar) had its first workshop performance yesterday, Broadway World reports. Adrianna Hicks, as Sugar Kane, headed up an impressive cast, with an Autumn 2022 Broadway premiere now expected.
