The city of Palm Springs will celebrate Marilyn’s 96th birthday next Wednesday, June 1, by the ‘Forever Marilyn’ statue on the corner of Museum Way and Belardo Road. Admission is free – more info here.
“The birthday bash will begin at 6:15 p.m. – where 500 red velvet cupcakes with pink frosting will be shared with attendees (while supplies last). Then, at 7:00 p.m., to kick off the Rock the Park Concert at the new Palm Springs Downtown Park, the featured act – Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Mirage – will sing Happy Birthday to Marilyn and invite the public to join in.
As the sun sets, a special pink light will shine on Forever Marilyn so that those who come out for the celebration will be able to take photos with her lit up pretty in pink for her birthday. Forever Marilyn will glow in the pink spotlight for one night only …”
