Bert Stern, Norman Mailer, and Marilyn’s ‘Fragments’

The 2012 art book, Norman Mailer. Bert Stern. Marilyn Monroe. has been reissued by Taschen for £80. Over 276 pages, the book includes two controversial texts – the Last Sitting essay and Mailer’s ‘novel biography’ – but the real attraction is the many stunning photographs by Bert Stern.

In France, meanwhile, Fragments – the classic collection of Marilyn’s personal writing, including letters, notes and poetry – has been reissued in a pocket edition by Points, with a gorgeous cover photo by Eve Arnold. (You can read my review of the English edition here,)
