Did you know that Marilyn was once betrothed to Charlie McCarthy? On November 9th, 1952, America’s dreamgirl fell hard for the world’s pre-eminent dummy – much to the chagrin of ventriloquist Edgar Bergen – during a live broadcast of the The Charlie McCarthy Show on CBS Radio.
This long-forgotten romance was recently featured in Closer USA‘s March 6 edition (with Florence Henderson on the cover – but it’s no longer available on newsstands, so if you want to buy a copy, try eBay.)
