This was followed by a screening of The Seven Year Itch – hosted by LA Conservancy, with a presentation by Hello, Norma Jeane author Elisa Jordan – at the historic Orpheum Theatre. Marilyn superfan Monica Shahiri showed up in a ‘tiger dress‘ from Elle Rebel.

Further afield, singer and pianist Lore Noir hosted a ‘Dress the Part’ screening of Some Like It Hot at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland, Oregon, sporting a replica of Marilyn’s ‘Happy Birthday Mr President’ gown.

Monroe fan account Silver Technicolor posted a tribute from sister project Finding Joe DiMaggio.

Spanish artist Alejandro Mogollo paid tribute to Marilyn’s hilarious ‘porthole scene‘ from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Lara Gabrielle, biographer to Marion Davies, remembered Stanley E. Flink, who interviewed Marilyn for her first LIFE cover story in 1952.

And talking of Hollywood legends, Lanatic dug into the archive for Lana Turner‘s thoughts on fellow blonde MM.

And finally, another birthday girl – film critic Kim Morgan, who wrote about Marilyn here) – was one of many fans visiting her grave yesterday.
