
Marilyn graces the latest cover of Swiss news weekly Die Weltwoche‘s lifestyle section, Lebenskunst, with a caption reading ‘Summertime at last.’ The heavily colourised image shows a bikini-clad Marilyn reading on a sun-lounger in the garden of agent Johnny Hyde’s Holmby Hills mansion, captured by photographer Earl Leaf in 1950.
A similar print, colourised by Martin Konopacki in 2014 is available to purchase from the Fine Art America website; while the original black and white photo was published in a US ‘bookazine,’ Marilyn: The Untold Story – alongside a misattributed quote.

Continuing with the vintage theme, this week’s Die Weltwoche features another blonde icon, Brigitte Bardot, on its front page (#26, dated June 27.)
