Alejandro Mogollo’s Monograph for Marilyn

Artist Alejandro Mogollo‘s latest book, Marilyn, is available now from publisher Notorious Ediciones and from Amazon España.

“An admirer of the true glamour of Hollywood’s golden age since childhood, Alejandro Mogollo knows how to capture the faces, expressions and styles of the great divas of cinema like no one else. Marilyn by Mogollo brings together all his creations inspired by probably the most charismatic actress in cinema, which also represents a new compilation of some of the author’s best works in the difficult art of evoking sublime moments, unforgettable aesthetics, gestures and mannerisms of that goddess who was perfect on screen and who Mogollo sublimates even more, if possible, in his dazzling drawings.”

The front cover is inspired by Bert Stern’s photos of Marilyn from 1962, while the back cover illustration draws upon ‘The Girl,’ her character in The Seven Year Itch (1955.)

Images new to this book depict Marilyn’s breakthrough roles in two classic movies from 1950, The Asphalt Jungle and All About Eve.

Alejandro has also captured Marilyn’s showstopping musical numbers from There’s No Business Like Show Business, and her performance in Some Like It Hot (1959.)
