Marilyn Collector Reunites a Perfect Set

Greg Schreiner, founder of Marilyn Remembered and owner of a remarkable movie costume collection, will unveil an orange chiffon robe and matching silk teddy – both trimmed with lace – worn by Marilyn in a classic glamour portrait by Ernest Bachrach circa 1953, as part of the Hollywood Revisited concert, which is coming to Palm Springs this February, the Palos Verdes Pulse reports. Greg purchased the robe in the early 1980s and after a lengthy search, learned that the teddy was owned by fellow collector Gene London. Sadly, Mr. London passed away in 2020 (see here.) “Fast forward to December and I was finally able to acquire this teddy to complete the outfit,” Greg says. “So after 67 years, they are finally back together again. What a wonderful and strange journey these two pieces have had.”
