With Britain still in lockdown, Marilyn continues to add a touch of glamour in our newspapers and magazines. In Sunday’s Telegraph, she was mentioned in a story about the history of Chanel No. 5, published in the supplementary magazine Stella. Although she never formally endorsed the perfume, this Bob Beerman photo from 1953 exemplifies Marilyn’s answer to the question, ‘What do you wear to bed?’ (Incidentally, Marilyn made the cover of Stella four years ago, in February 2016.)
And in the latest issue of Yours Retro (#34, with Lana Turner on the cover), the recent sale of Marilyn’s ‘tiger dress’ from The Seven Year Itch is mentioned in an article about the Icons & Legends event at Profiles in History in December 2020. (You can read more about the Marilyn-related items in the auction here.)
