Taschen Reissues Lawrence Schiller’s ‘Marilyn and Me’

Nine years ago, art publisher Taschen released Marilyn & Me, a deluxe coffee-table book encased in a blue clamshell box, featuring Lawrence Schiller’s photographs of Marilyn on the set of Let’s Make Love and Something’s Got to Give, most notably the pool scene (an exclusive for Schiller.) At £650, the book was out of reach for many fans – myself included – and quickly became a collector’s item. A limited ‘art edition’ was also released (for £2,500), and a compact, text-only version of the book was published separately.

At the time, Taschen’s London office kindly sent me a review copy on 48-hour loan. You can read my review here. Nine years later, Taschen is celebrating Marilyn’s 95th birthday – and making a long-held dream come true for all her fans – by releasing an affordable hardback edition of Marilyn & Me for £50, available via their website and from all good bookstores on June 20th.
