Marilyn Returns to Paris Film Festival

While Blonde may not be coming to Cannes, Marilyn takes pride of price on the poster for September’s Champs-Élysées Film Festival, celebrating French and American independent film-making in the heart of Paris. Now in its 10th year, the festival has used various images of Marilyn on its artwork from the outset (see here.)

This heavenly pose, from Marilyn’s 1961 session with Douglas Kirkland for Look magazine, comes hot on the heels of a Kirkland poster topping bids at Julien’s Auctions on Marilyn’s 95th birthday; actress Lea Seydoux‘s homage to the shoot; and a dual Kirkland exhibit, Coco + Marilyn, in Italy.
