Marilyn Dresses the Part in ‘Yours Retro’

In 1953, Marilyn first rocked the big screen in Dorothy Jeakins’ sleek modern designs for Niagara, while in her next picture, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, she epitomised Travilla’s high-octane glamour. Both styles are featured in ‘You’ve Got the Role … Now Dress the Part,’ published in the latest issue of UK nostalgia mag Yours Retro (#47, with Ginger Rogers on the cover.)

Marilyn wore her pink Niagara dress both on and offscreen…

And her Gentlemen Prefer Blondes gown (worn with a matching jacket for the hilarious ‘porthole scene’) was repurposed for a photo shoot in which Marilyn modelled the Moon of Baroda diamond.
