Bing Crosby’s Palm Springs Estate Sold for $4.15 Million

The former Palm Springs home of singer Bing Crosby has sold for $4.15 million – around $400,00 less than the asking price, the Daily Mail reports. Located at Rancho Mirage, the estate covers 6,700 square feet, with its guesthouse renamed the ‘JFK Wing’ after President John F. Kennedy stayed there during the Democratic National Convention in March 1962.

Marilyn is rumoured to have been one of many notables who joined him at the Crosby compound, and her masseur Ralph Roberts has claimed that she called him from Crosby’s home, even putting the President on the line to discuss his back problems. Another guest, Los Angeles county assessor Philip Watson, also believed that Marilyn and Kennedy were “obviously together.”

Monroe biographer Donald Spoto has argued that this weekend was perhaps the sole occasion when we can be reasonably sure the fabled pair were intimate. Nonetheless, it remains a subject of conjecture – and you can read more about the events here.
