Hosted by Spain’s RTVE network, a programme in tribute to Marilyn on the 60th anniversary of her death begins tomorrow, August 5, with a screening of her 1954 Western, River of No Return, on the La 2 channel. Then on Saturday, August 6, a La 2 theme night, ‘On the Trail of Marilyn,’ includes the 2017 documentary, Marilyn Monroe: Auction of a Lifetime, and of related interest, Andy Warhol: A Life.
On Monday, August 8, The Seven Year Itch will be screened as part of RTVE Play’s ‘Days of Classic Cinema’ series. (Incidentally, the film’s Spanish title translates, rather poetically, as Temptation Lives Upstairs.) And on Wednesday, August 10, Marilyn: Her Final Secret and Death of An Icon: Marilyn Monroe will be shown on the Documaster channel.
Marilyn is also featured in El Periodico, a newspaper published in Catalunya.
