The latest issue of UK magazine MOJO – dated October, with Kate Bush on the cover – includes a 2-page ‘Time Machine’ feature, turns the clock back 60 years to August 1962, when Marilyn’s sad demise left a void in music as well as movies. Also that month, Jamaica celebrated its independence with a night of glorious ska; The Tornados launched their futuristic masterpiece, ‘Telstar’; and drummer Pete Best was ousted from his up-and-coming band, The Beatles, in favour of Ringo Starr.
