Warhol’s Marilyn Screenprint Sold at Bonhams for $252K

A 1967 screenprint of Marilyn by Andy Warhol was sold for $252,375 at Bonhams in New York today, with two more from the same series fetching $138,975 (below left) and $120,075 (right), respectively. All three prints surpassed their $70-90K estimates. This follows the record-breaking sale of Warhol’s ‘Shot Sage Blue Marilyn’ for a staggering $195 million at Christie’s in May, the most expensive piece of 20th-century art ever sold.
