A full retrospective of Marilyn’s movies – sponsored by Chanel – began tonight at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris with River of No Return. All of Marilyn’s major films will be screened over the next three weeks, plus a few rarities (Ladies of the Chorus, The Fireball, We’re Not Married!)
The programme also includes a 90-minute lecture, ‘Marilyn in Black and Blonde‘ (tomorrow, December 1 at 7 pm), presented by Marie-Camille Bouchindomme, co-author of the 2012 book, Mythical Blondes. This event will be followed by The Misfits at 9 pm.
And next Thursday, December 8, a screening of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at 7 pm will be followed by a 60-minute discussion hosted by Bernard Benoliel, in conversation with film critic Murielle Joudet.
