April in Paris: A Marilyn Movie Marathon

In addition to the Cinémathèque Française’s Marilyn Monroe: 100 Years exhibition, the François Truffaut Cinema in Chilly-Mazarin, Paris is holding a day-long tribute to Marilyn – including a movie triple bill – on Saturday, April 18. Tickets cost €4-€7 per film, or €12 for the marathon – so feel free to dress like a star!

2 pm – CONFERENCE

Marilyn Monroe: A Story of Emancipation 

Through a sensitive portrait supported by extensive photographic documentation, rediscover Marilyn Monroe as a real person, far removed from the glossy magazine fantasy.

This introduction is followed by a screening of Some Like It Hot (1959)

Anne Savelli, ‘Godmother of the Marathon’, will sign copies of her 2022 book, Musée Marilyn, at 4 pm.

5pm – Film Buffs’ Café

Have a coffee or tea and discuss the programme with the Cinema team.

6 PM – Quiz

How well do you know Marilyn Monroe? Test your knowledge before the screening of Niagara (1953). Prizes to be won!

And finally, The Misfits (1961) is showing at 8:30 pm.
