Authentic Brands Group (ABG), the majority owner of Marilyn’s estate, has unveiled its latest product line in partnership with Glomesh, an Australian company known for its glitzy handbags made with solid brass mesh.

Glomesh was founded in 1956 by a Hungarian immigrant family. A blonde model – not Marilyn – posed for this vintage ad, recently featured in an Instagram reel.

Each bag in the Glomesh x Marilyn Monroe collection includes a compact mirror illustrated with a corresponding image.

Named after the Manhattan avenue where Marilyn filmed the ‘subway grate scene’ for The Seven Year Itch, ‘Lexington‘ is inspired by the iconic pleated halter-dress she wore that night.

‘Lady Fontaluna (Constellation)‘ and ‘Renee‘ take their cues from the Ceil Chapman cocktail dress worn by Marilyn at the Masquers Club in 1953.

‘Lady Fontaluna (Golden Tiger)‘ draws upon Sam Shaw’s photo of Marilyn in a dream sequence from The Seven Year Itch.

‘Lady Fontaluna (Catalina)‘ echoes Marilyn’s red-and-white striped T-shirt in this early modelling shot by Bruno Bernard. As Norma Jeane, she lived on Catalina Island for several months with her first husband, Jim Dougherty, while he trained for the Merchant Marine during World War II.

‘Renee (White Mink)‘ is inspired by Milton Greene’s portrait of Marilyn after she moved to New York in 1955.

And finally, ‘Renee (Cabana)‘ is patterned after the white-and-red striped bikini top worn by a young Marilyn for photographer Richard C. Miller.
