
Following a screening of Some Like It Hot on June 1st – Marilyn’s 100th birthday – Cinegrill at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is hosting a centennial film festival next week, with doors opening nightly at 6pm, and screenings from 7pm. But first, How to Marry a Millionaire is coming to the Old Town Music Hall – just outside Los Angeles in El Segundo, CA – on Sunday, June 14, at 2:30 pm. The screening will be introduced by Elisa Jordan, whose 2023 book, Hello, Norma Jeane: The Marilyn Monroe You Didn’t Know, features a famous promotional shot for the 1953 movie on its cover.

Also on Sunday, Some Like It Hot gets a trio of Pride screenings at the Lark Theatre in Larkspur (Marin County, CA) – showing at 9am, 5:30 pm, and 8pm.

Staying in Northern California, a full Monroe retrospective – featuring lesser-known early films alongside popular classics – opens this weekend at the historic Stanford Theatre in Palo Alto.

Meanwhile, further screenings of Some Like It Hot are scheduled across the United States, with multiple showings at the Thalian Hall Centre for the Performing Arts in Wilmington, North Carolina, from June 22-24.

On Tuesday, June 23 at 6:30 pm, Some Like It Hot is showing at the Beach Theatre in St. Petersburg, Florida – where Marilyn spent time with Joe DiMaggio following her release from hospital in 1961.

At 6pm on June 23, Some Like It Hot gets a FREE screening at the Garden Theatre in Frankfort, Michigan, as part of a monthly Garden Classic Movies series; and back in California, Some Like It Hot is showing at the Orinda Theatre on Tuesday, June 30, at 1pm. This screening will be introduced by radio film critic Matias Bombal, and the programme includes newsreels and other shorts from 1959, when Marilyn’s comedy classic was first released.

And finally, Some Like It Hot returns to Florida on Wednesday, July 8, with a 6:30 pm screening at the Sarasota Film Society‘s Burns Court cinema.
