Two of Marilyn’s finest films are showing at the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), as part of a ‘Tribute to Masters’ programme: Billy Wilder x Marilyn Monroe: Wildest Dreams.

Some Like It Hot (1959) was Marilyn’s second comedy with director Billy Wilder (following 1955’s The Seven Year Itch.) However, The Misfits (1961) – a dramatic tour de force, and Marilyn’s cinematic swansong – was directed by John Huston, who also oversaw her breakthrough role in The Asphalt Jungle (1950.)
