Dear Marilyn, an exhibition of photographs by Sam Shaw, is on display at the Cluj-Napoca Art Museum as part of this year’s Transylvania International Film Festival (TIFF 25.)
“One of the central exhibitions of this year’s edition is Dear Marilyn, created by American photographer Sam Shaw. Marking 100 years since the birth of Marilyn Monroe, TIFF 25 brings before the public previously unseen images of the iconic actress, captured by one of the most important visual chroniclers of 1950s Hollywood.
The exhibition is part of a series of international initiatives dedicated to the Marilyn Monroe centenary, alongside institutions such as the French Cinematheque, the British Film Institute, the National Portrait Gallery, MoMA, and the Turin Film Festival.”

The festival will close with an open-air screening of Some Like It Hot on Sunday, June 21, at 9:45 pm.
“Two down-on-their-luck jazz musicians find themselves out of a job and on the run after the police raid the speakeasy where they perform and they inadvertently witness a gang war. Armed with dodgy wigs and wobbly falsettos, Joe and Jerry settle into their new identities — especially after meeting the gorgeous Sugar Kane — but things soon begin to spiral out of control…”
