Monroe 100, a 10-week retrospective, is coming to the Palace Cinemas chain in Australia from Saturday, July 4th.

“Mark Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday with a curated programme showcasing 10 of her most memorable performances!

Over 10 glorious weeks, experience the best of Marilyn Monroe on the cinema screen with screenings every weekend from July 4 to September 5. From the dazzling jewels of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, the comedic genius of Some Like it Hot, and the iconic dress shot of The Seven Year Itch, witness the masterful range of Monroe and the lasting legacy she left behind.”

Participating venues include Melbourne’s Palace Westgarth, Palace Moore Park, and Astor Theatre; Palace Barracks in Brisbane; Palace Electric Cinema in Canberra; and Palace Raine Square in Perth.

The Seven Year Itch and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes are available for booking now, with the rest to follow. Screenings are on Saturdays, except for the Astor Theatre – check your preferred venue for specific session times.

Additionally, Some Like It Hot is coming to the Arc Cinema at the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) in Canberra on Saturday, July 11, as part of the dementia-friendly Day at the Movies series.

This matinee event begins at 10:30 am with tea in the heritage courtyard, and a short introduction to the film at 10:55 am. An interval is set for 12pm, and viewers can enjoy a post-screening afternoon tea in the courtyard at 12:55 pm.

A 10% discount is available for group bookings of 6 or more people. Carers receive a free ticket, and all attendees can enjoy a complimentary Bulla ice cream.
