
A short-run exhibition featuring Bert Stern’s iconic images of Marilyn is in its final weekend at Keyes Art at Sag Harbor, New York, closing on Sunday, October 4th.
“Marilyn Monroe, The Last Sitting 1962 is the seminal photography session of conducted by Bert Stern in 1962 as an independent assignment for Vogue magazine. This legendary three-day session, which Stern chose to hold in a suite at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, yielded nearly 2,700 photographs. The extensive collection spanned fashion shots, portraits, and nude studies, though Vogue ultimately chose only ten images for publication. The resulting photographs from these three days are widely regarded as a groundbreaking historical moment in the world of art.”
