In the earlier years of her career, Marilyn spent more time posing for pin-ups than she did making movies. It’s not surprising, then, to find her in Town & Country magazine’s latest pictorial, among other classic Hollywood stars celebrating holidays throughout the year. She can be found playing Cupid (twice) for St. Valentine’s Day; promoting fire safety on July 4th; hunting a reluctant turkey at Thanksgiving; and wrapping up the year in a Christmas stocking.
The Christmas pin-up was in thanks to the GIs who named Marilyn ‘the Christmas gift every GI would like to find in their chimney’ in 1951, as noted in the latest issue of French e-zine Crazy for You.
