Fans of singer Billie Eilish may recall that her retro blonde glamour at last year’s Met Gala was partly Monroe-inspired (although her childhood Barbie dolls were another guiding influence.) She has now returned to a more casual style, but gave another fashion nod to MM while onstage in Glasgow in June. As reported here, it’s one of several pieces made from recycled materials by Albuquerque artist Doug Wiggins, that Billie selected for her current ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour – and is seemingly based on a 1958 image from Marilyn’s famous ‘hat sitting‘ with photographer Carl Perutz.
